THE STORY OF MAN

A composite of fragile elements
Glued together by breath.
Of more durable materials are tin gods Crafted from sterner stuff,
Burnished through furnace fire.

But man has no fire,
Yet he spits fire.
Segment of Earth, Wind and Water.
(Flesh, breath and blood)

When fragile breath departs
The composite dissolves,
Flesh to dust, blood to water.
Again nourishing the Earth,
From whence he came
The story of man
